Hello! I’m Antara, a Bangalore based illustrator and designer. There are many wonderful things that inspire me to create, but history, animals and sarcastic humour are my mainstays. I primarily draw inspiration from vintage illustration techniques, with their layered, screen-print like aesthetic. I use a mix of Risograph printing and digital editing to achieve a similar visual style.
My work won Third Prize in the Macmillan Prize For Illustration 2024, and made it as a finalist in the Bologna Illustrator’s Exhibition 2024.
When I’m not making books, you can find me crocheting furiously, moodily plucking away at a guitar, collecting rock records, and learning Odissi classical dance.
